Search Engine Optimization

Follow these simple tricks to make your site search engine compatible

  • No broken links in the site.
  • It is a good idea to create sit maps in your site. Create an XML sitemap file, put it in the root directory and then submit it to http://google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/siteoverview.
  • Have good content in your site. · Google ranks a page well if it has link popularity and if content is regularly updated ie, content is not stale.
  • Also, try to center your pages on one central theme. Use synonyms of your important keyword phrases.
  • Quality content on your index page. Try to make the length of your home page at least 300 words, however, without hiding anything from visitors' eyes.Try to use some keywords in BOLD .
  • As a rule, search engine spiders have a limit on loading page content. For instance, the Googlebot will not read more than 100 KB of your page, even though it is instructed to look whether there are keywords in the end of your page. So if you use keywords somewhere beyond this limit, this is invisible to spiders. Therefore, you may want to acquire the good habit of not overloading the HEAD section of your page with scripts and styles.
  • Use keywords in the URLs of your pages, e.g. http://www.companyname.com/web-development-services.html. Remember, search engines rank pages, not sites.
  • Longer titles are generally better than shorter ones, however the recommended word count for title is only 5 to 12 words, and character length up to 75 symbols. Naming images after keywords is particularly important now that AltaVista and Google have image searches.
  • Place your company’s name in the title tag, especially place it at the very beginning of the tag. What is more important is that you shouldn’t stop with just your company name but add one or two descriptive phrases to the tag.
  • The Meta Description Tag needs to be kept brief yet informative. A description of about 25-30 words should do fine.
  • Remember the importance of keyword prominence and place your keyword phrase early in the body text of the page.
